Zinfai is given away for free. In return, you use it at your own risk and you stay responsible for your own financial decisions. The details are below.

These terms apply to the Zinfai desktop application, the Zinfai Buddy mobile app, the calculators and video guides, and this website, www.zinfai.com (together, "Zinfai"). "We", "us" and "our" mean the developer and publisher of Zinfai. "You" means anyone who downloads, installs, accesses or uses Zinfai.
By creating a download account, downloading, installing or using Zinfai, you agree to these terms and to our privacy statement. You will be asked to confirm that you agree, by ticking a box, when you create an account, before you download, and when you first use the app, and again whenever these terms change. We keep a record of each agreement; the app's record stays on your own computer. If you do not agree, do not use Zinfai. If you use Zinfai on behalf of someone else, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for them. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use Zinfai.
Zinfai is personal software for recording, tracking and analysing your own finances. It runs on your own computer or phone. We do not operate any service that receives, stores, processes or has access to your financial data, so we cannot see, check, correct, recover or restore it.
Zinfai is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or stop any part of it at any time, with or without notice, and we have no obligation to provide updates, fixes, support or continued availability.
Zinfai is a tool for your own information, research and education. Nothing in Zinfai, on this website, in the video guides or in any reply from us is financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal or insurance advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security, fund, product or asset.
We are not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as an investment adviser or research analyst, or with any other regulator in India or elsewhere, as an adviser, broker, distributor, tax practitioner or chartered accountant. Financial plans, health scores, asset ratings, intrinsic values, FIRE projections, tax computations, advance-tax schedules and every other figure Zinfai produces are automated estimates. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong.
You alone are responsible for your financial, investment and tax decisions, and for any return, filing or payment you make. Check anything that matters against the original documents, and consult a qualified, registered professional before acting on it. Past performance and projections are not a guarantee of future results. Investments carry market risk, including the loss of capital.
Zinfai reads statements, fetches prices and rates, and performs calculations automatically. Statement parsing, categorisation, prices, exchange rates, returns (including XIRR), tax figures and projections may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or missing. It is your responsibility to review what Zinfai records and to keep the original statements.
Your data lives on your device. You are responsible for securing that device, choosing strong passwords and passphrases, and keeping regular backups. If you lose your device, your data volume, your backup passphrase or your backup files, your data may be permanently lost, and we cannot recover it. We are not responsible for any loss, corruption or disclosure of your data, however caused, including by updates, migrations, bugs, hardware failure, malware, or by you exposing the application to a network.
AI features run only if you configure an API key from an AI provider of your choosing. Requests go from your device directly to that provider, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy, and any charges the provider makes are between you and them. You are responsible for the keys you configure, the features you enable, and the data you allow to be shared (see Privacy).
AI output is generated by third-party models we do not control. It can be wrong, biased, out of date or invented, while sounding confident. Treat every AI-generated plan, rating, reading, categorisation or answer (including from Mr Mirror) as unverified, and check it before relying on it.
Zinfai relies on services we do not own or control. These include market-data, NAV and exchange-rate sources, news feeds, AI providers, Google Drive, Google Firebase, GitHub, Docker Hub and YouTube. We do not guarantee their accuracy, availability or continued operation. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their content, errors, outages, charges or practices, or for any change they make that stops a Zinfai feature from working.
Names, logos and trademarks of banks, brokers, fund houses, exchanges and other third parties appear only to identify their statements or data. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.
The Zinfai desktop application runs inside a Docker container. To set that up, the Zinfai installer for macOS and Windows will, if they are not already present on your computer:

(zinfai-data) that holds your Zinfai data.Docker Desktop, WSL2, Homebrew and winget are third-party software. They are not part of Zinfai and are not licensed by us. They are governed by their publishers' own licence terms and privacy policies, which you accept when they are installed or first run. In particular, Docker Desktop is free for personal use, education, non-commercial open-source projects and small businesses, but Docker's subscription service agreement requires a paid subscription for use in larger organisations. If you install Zinfai on a computer owned by, or used for, such an organisation, it is your responsibility to make sure that use is properly licensed.
Docker Desktop may collect usage and diagnostic data under Docker's privacy policy. You can review this in Docker Desktop's own settings. Downloads from Docker Hub, and the update check Zinfai makes against Docker Hub, are received by Docker, Inc. like any other web request. Docker Desktop and its virtual machine use disk space, memory and processor time on your computer.
Uninstalling Zinfai removes the Zinfai container and, if you choose, its data volume and image. On macOS, the uninstaller offers to remove Docker Desktop only if Zinfai's setup installed it. On Windows, Docker Desktop and WSL2 stay installed, because other software may depend on them. Remove them yourself through your operating system if you no longer need them. We are not responsible for Docker Desktop, WSL2 or any other third-party software, for their behaviour, updates, licensing or charges, or for any effect they have on your computer or on other software running on it.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Zinfai for managing your own and your household's finances. You agree not to:
Zinfai, its name, logos, design and content remain our property, except for third-party components, which remain the property of their owners and are licensed under their own terms.
You must give accurate information when you register and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or delete an account, or refuse a download, at our discretion, including for suspected abuse. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, as set out in the privacy statement.
Zinfai is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults, and without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, conditions and representations, whether express, implied or statutory. These include any of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, non-infringement, and that Zinfai will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or free of viruses or other harmful components. No advice or information from us, written or oral, creates any warranty.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you or anyone else for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, investment returns, savings, opportunity, data, goodwill, or for any tax, interest, penalty or fee, arising out of or in connection with Zinfai or these terms. This applies whether the claim is based in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or any other legal theory, and even if we were told such loss was possible.
In particular, we are not liable for any decision you make or do not make, any trade, investment, withdrawal, filing or payment, or any loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete or delayed figures, prices, calculations, statement readings or AI output.
Our total liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with Zinfai will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Zinfai in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, for a free product, is nil) and ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Where the law does not allow a limitation, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law permits.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless us, and anyone who helps us build or run Zinfai, against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use or misuse of Zinfai, your breach of these terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or any data you process or share with third parties using Zinfai.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant and you have a download account, we will email you. Continuing to use Zinfai after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You may stop using Zinfai at any time by uninstalling it and deleting your data. We may end your licence if you breach these terms. Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your use ends.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to first write to us at support@zinfai.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve the matter informally. Subject to that, the courts in India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with Zinfai or these terms.
These terms, together with the privacy statement, are the entire agreement between you and us about Zinfai. If any part of them is held invalid or unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in full effect. Our not enforcing any part of these terms is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours. Headings are for convenience only.
